Biography
Artie is a sweet active energetic boy who loves to play with other young dogs! His family could not take him when they moved to another state. Artie requires an active adopter who has a large fenced yard (not invisible or electric) and who will exercise him a lot. Running would be his speed! Artie would do best with an at home adopter with fenced yard and dog buddies (his size, age and energy level) for him. PLEASE no older dogs, no laid back dogs! Artie is a highly active 100% tank of a dog. He needs a dog buddy willing to spar with him all of his waking hours. He is not crate-trained and hates being in one.

Adopters need to be experienced with high energy dachshunds. No townhouses, condos or apartments - this boy is a big barker. Adopters need to have experience training and house training puppies. Only apply if you have eyes in the back of your head because Artie will get into everything if given half the chance! *** This dog is being fostered in Maryland. All things considered, local adopters will be given preference so that an in-person home visit can be done. Applicants must be willing to drive to Ellicott City, Maryland (10 miles south of Baltimore) to meet and adopt Artie.***.
