| PLEASE READ CAREFULLY-ONLY EXPERIENCED BACK DOG ADOPTERS WILL BE CONSIDERED: Penny was turned into a vet's office to be euthanized because her owner did not want to deal with a paralyzed dog. She was snatched up by a rescuer and taken to a local vet's office where she received medication and laser treatments. DRNA picked her up and continued with meds and crate rest. Penny has made a pretty quick and amazing recovery. She is just a tad wobbly but most folks probably wouldn't notice. She is an active girl and will need an adopter familiar with back dogs, the symptoms of IVDD and the ability to care for her if she has another episode. Her adopter will need to carry her up and down stairs, have dogs ramps/stairs in their home, and do as much as possible to keep her safe. Some additional info on this sweet girl: Full of loyalty, kisses, and a gentle spirit, Penny is very special. Extremely sweet and lovable, it is difficult for this foster mom to let her go! She is housebroken and familiar with a crate. She gets along with other dogs although her focus will be on you. She likes her crate full of blankets for a short period of time (not all day) and would love an "at home adopter". She will sit and cuddle with you as well as follow you around your home as you do your chores. She is a bit fearful of the outside world so will need patience in adapting to walks. A fenced yard would be best for her. She loves to carry her feeding dish around, as well as any other dog's--a little unusual but very cute. She will sleep near your pillow and will adapt beautifully to a fleece blanket at the head of your bed. Her disposition is the best ever! Penny's adoption fee is $275.
