Biography
Penny, Roscoe, her brother, and mom, Dorothy, recently lost their human mom. Before her death, Penny’s human mom apparently had been trying to re-home her many dachshunds in anticipation of her death, but we are not totally sure what the complete situation or why these three dears were left. Sadly, when she passed away there was no one to care for these adorable babies and their living conditions were downright horrible!! The night DRNA found out about their plight they had been pulled from a house where they had no food, no water and no warmth (the fire had gone out) and were literally in a box outside with some blankets. Apparently one of the existing dogs had not been friendly to them at all! After talking to us about the freezing temperatures a nice friend hatched a plan to keep them in her bathroom and even gave them baths and put sweaters on them. They were very grateful! The next morning DRNA picked them up. We took all three to the vet where we discovered that everyone needed to be spayed/neutered but that they were great dogs who loved attention and snuggles! Penny is currently in foster care with her brother Roscoe where she loves to sit on her foster mom or dad’s lap and wants to make sure she can see them all the time. Penny was a little shy with her foster mom at first but took to her foster dad right away. Penny especially loves sitting on her foster parent’s laps and having an arm wrapped around her on the couch. Penny also loves following her foster mom around the house and is comfortable in a sweater during the winter. Penny loves sleeping in the big bed at night and sleeps well through the night. Penny is a little heavy for a miniature dachshund and so foster mom is trying to work on her weight a bit. Her foster mom carries her up and down the stairs because she had some trouble going up/down the stairs the first time and would recommend his forever parents do the same. Penny and Roscoe are clearly bonded and want to be adopted together. It would be wonderful if all three could all go together but we know three dogs are a WHOPPING adoption project! Penny and Roscoe are great dogs and deserve a chance at happiness! Woof and Penny loves you already! PS This is Penny speaking Foster Mom says my personality is coming out more and more every day and I say that as soon as I am spayed in a few days (don’t know what that means but I do not like the sound of it) I will be good to go to my forever home with you! And PPS that's me with the beautiful white on my face in case you wondered!
